Risk Assessment for Environmental Health Professionals
American University of Armenia School of Public Health: Yerevan, Armenia
Since 2012, TIFO has taught a 3-credit course for American University of Armenia’s Masters of Public Health students. The course covers the concepts and principles of risk assessment and environmental health by reviewing current examples of environmental problems in low, middle and high income countries. This includes quantitative and qualitative approaches to characterizing and controlling environmental pathways between contaminants and human receptors utilizing core concepts from toxicology, exposure assessment, and risk characterization.
The course is taught by different groups of TIFO experts each year, drawing on their own extensive experiences in occupational health, environmental science, public health, and risk assessment.
